Definitely Blue Café

The worlds first Definitely Blue Café - an immersive experimental space to trick the senses, designed for Bompas & Parr Studio. The cause - launch of new the fruit juice ‘Bolt from the Blue’ by Innocent. The new juice stirred up an energetic national debate on Twitter about the colour (and name) of the drink. Blue or green? Innocent were adamant to show the public just how far they would go to demonstrate that their drink is in fact blue.

The exterior facade was fully wrapped in an in-between teal colour vinyl. The guests walked through an orange light corridor: the orange light ‘tricks’ the eyes into seeing more enhanced blues, as they enter the main space.

An entirely blue cafe space with walls of blue-riosities awaited. In the space was a central table hosting bespoke blue projections and a ‘Blue Measure Mechanism’ to evaluate the tonality between Blue, Bluer and Very Blue. The guests could interact with the scent mechanisms on the walls, experiencing how blue smells like, as well as hear blue songs when picking up a telephone, also obviously blue.
